Fluke: Connected

Problem & Results

The Industrial Tools division went all-in on a new phase of Fluke Connect, building upon a simple wireless transfer feature to create a suite of Internet-of-Things (IoT) sensors, gateways, and full-featured apps for mobile, Web, and Windows desktop. But the aggressive schedule didn’t reflect the scope and complexity of the project, threatening to short-change the top quality and ease-of-use that Fluke products are renowned for.

Coordinating the efforts of design teams and contractors on two continents and driving a pragmatic design approach, I was able to keep the design deliverables mostly ahead of development despite understaffed product management. I brought together the teams in a combined effort to quickly build up the design system across platforms, and with continued iterations for design and research we pushed for a higher-quality user experience.
