About
From the debut of the personal computer to even more personal mobile devices, I have worked diligently to provide software products that were first useful, then usable, and now also compelling.
That work experience includes designing, prototyping, and developing mobile, workstation, and desktop/Web applications for start-ups and fast-moving divisions of leading companies. Prior responsibilities included heading up exploratory design and development, directing innovation and Intellectual Property, establishing effective processes and standards, and coordinating vendors and contract specialists. But the most satisfying role has been managing design, usability, and development teams; whether directing seasoned staff or mentoring up-and-coming prospects, I have enjoyed helping them develop their talents and align their efforts towards common goals.
Returning to consulting after completing an MBA, my boutique design firm featured ValidConcept, a comprehensive service for product managers and entrepreneurs to help determine the right product or service for the right customers. It combined those key methods of conceptual design, user research, and rapid prototyping to deliver actionable results and inform critical product decisions.
